Acrylic, Forward and reverse painted glass and wood 15x15cm (framed).
Sissy Cutchen started folk art painting while living in the Deep South. Painting on what she calls “reckless mediums” (old wood, and fallen house shingles), in a free and spontaneous style, was complimentary to the way she had been taught to think about art: that art came from the purest, truest and most spontaneous part of ourselves. Her creations are in notable collections all over the world, exhibited at the National Museum for Women In The Arts, and the Children’s Museum of Virginia, she is a member of the Torpedo Factory Art Center in the Washington DC area.
