Award-winning Scottish artist Lara Scouller works in a variety of media including pastel and printmaking. Scouller’s drawings portray the natural world at its most beautiful and vulnerable: preferring to work directly from life she is able to respond intuitively to her surroundings. Her subject matter varies from unusual tree forms to museum specimens including birds with elaborate plumage to imposing elephants and rhinoceroses. Most recently she has been working outdoors observing Scotland’s wildlife and landscape. Lara has travelled extensively in search of inspiration including trips to the Isle of May, Shetland and closer to home in Fife.
