Hugh Gillan (b. Alexandria, Scotland, 1972) lives in Glasgow and studied at Glasgow School of Art 1991 – 1995. He makes work that is concerned with liminal spaces populated with objects of modern technology such as pylons, cables, bridges and roads. He is interested in the extraordinary within the familiar and the mundane. He focuses on places and things that have become so commonplace we hardly notice them. Hugh uses oil, watercolour and various dry media.
