One of Claire’s friends, Jo, a teacher at Cathkin High School in Cambuslang, has shared a lovely story with us which we wanted to share with you too.
Jo has been doggedly baking cakes to raise money for Claire, with whom she has been friends since they were very young. She brings them into school to sell at lunchtimes and has been slowly accruing a nice pot of money.

She didn’t realise, but her Higher pupils had heard about this and all about Claire’s situation and had quietly taken it upon themselves to have their own bake sale. Amazingly, they raised £122.47! What makes this even more touching is that they are extremely busy with preparation for their exams, and they used up valuable study time baking and selling.
Jo was so touched by the efforts of her students that it made her cry tears of pride. As you might imagine, it has been a very hard time for Jo seeing her oldest pal dealing with such a tough diagnosis and so this small act of kindness meant a great deal to her.
So from all at CCC, thank you Jo and students for being so thoroughly lovely!
If you want to get involved with #bakeforbowels simply hold a bake sale or baking-related event in order to raise funds for Claire and send us your photos.
